Public Profile & Content Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

This policy explains what may appear on an optional public Sparkl profile, how to report a concern, and how profile owners and reporters can appeal a moderation decision.

1. Scope and choice

This policy applies to public Sparkl profile pages, including URLs under /u/ and /fr/u/, and their social-preview images. Publishing is optional and requires the account owner's opt-in. This policy supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. What profiles may contain

A public profile may contain the allowlisted identity and collection highlights that Sparkl makes available for public display, such as a handle, display name, avatar, bio, selected card highlights, and coarse collection summaries. Profile owners must have the right to publish any text or image they submit.

A public profile is a separate snapshot. It does not expose exact private collection records, exact private counts, notes, tags, acquisition prices, targets, certificate numbers, wishlist data, or scan timestamps.

3. What is not allowed

4. How to report a profile

Use the Report this profile link on the public page. A successful submission shows a reference backed by our report record; keep it if you may need to follow up. If the form is unavailable, email contact@sparkl.gg with the profile URL, the reason for the report, and enough context for us to evaluate it.

Include supporting evidence only when relevant, and do not send unnecessary passwords, payment data, identity documents, or other sensitive information. For an urgent threat of physical harm, contact local emergency services first.

5. Review and action

We assess reports in context and may ask for more information. Depending on the issue, we may take no action, limit search indexing, remove particular content, unpublish a profile, preserve limited evidence where legally required, restrict an account, or refer a matter to an appropriate authority. We may act without a report when we identify a clear violation or safety risk.

6. Appeals

A profile owner or reporter may ask us to reconsider a moderation decision by emailing contact@sparkl.gg. Include the profile URL or report context, the decision you are appealing, and why you believe it should change. We will review the available information and communicate the outcome when reasonably practicable. This process does not limit any rights or remedies available under applicable law.

7. Unpublishing and residual copies

Profile owners can unpublish their profile. Sparkl blocks access and runs durable cleanup of generated profile and social-preview artifacts; the Sparkl page normally stops resolving within a few minutes. Search engines, social platforms, browsers, screenshots, and recipients may keep earlier copies longer. Sparkl can request or encourage third-party removal but cannot control those services' refresh schedules.
